How We Got Started
The Saint Marianne Cope Shrine & Museum Gift Shop was opened in 2011 to help share the inspiring story of Mother Marianne and her journey to sainthood. She was the first Franciscan woman in North America to be canonized a saint.
The original store was located right next to St. Anthony's Chapel on the campus of the Sisters of St. Francis convent in Syracuse, New York. In the spring of 2014 the store was moved to the new location of the Saint Marianne Cope Shrine & Museum that is now located on the campus of St. Joseph's hospital in Syracuse, New York. This turns out to be a fitting location as Mother Marianne participated in the founding of St. Joseph's hospital.
The Sisters of St. Francis of the Neumann Communities have given the staff at the Saint Marianne Cope Shrine & Museum Gift Shop the privilege of continuing Saint Marianne's legacy by spreading the word about her extraordinary life. Much of our unique merchandise was created by those Sisters who felt compelled to share the story of one of their own, Saint Marianne Cope.
With our merchandise we have attempted to convey a dignified, accurate and inspiring message about Mother Marianne.
We invite you to browse through our Saint Marianne Cope official merchandise and hope that you are also inspired by her life story.
All proceeds from your purchase will go to the Saint Marianne Cope Shrine & Museum and will help us, as devoted stewards of Saint Marianne Cope's life and legacy, share her life's story with others.
